The excavator swing motor is one of the core components of hydraulic excavators, primarily responsible for achieving 360° rotation of the upper structure. As the key power element of the swing mechanism, its performance directly affects the machine's working efficiency, rotation accuracy and operational stability.
Structure and Working Principle
The swing motor typically consists of three main parts:

Hydraulic motor unit: Converts hydraulic energy into mechanical energy to provide rotation torque

Braking system: Includes mechanical brake and hydraulic release brake to ensure parking positioning

Planetary reduction gear: Reduces speed and increases output torque
Working principle: Pressure oil drives the hydraulic motor to rotate, which then drives the swing bearing through the planetary reducer to rotate the upper platform.
